The gardens cover an area of 12 hectares in the form of a natural amphitheatre with a difference in altitude of 100 metres. This opens up impressive perspectives of exotic garden landscapes as well as breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and the spa town of Merano.
In a natural amphitheatre, let yourself be enchanted by the different colours of flowers, plants and fruits and by a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountain landscape. Experience more than 80 botanical, exotic and mediterranean garden landscapes and plants from all over the world.
Your private garden guide and botany expert is waiting for you, who will take you on a very personal journey of discovery through the gardens. On the botanical tour through sun gardens, water and terrace gardens, landscapes of South Tyrol and forest gardens, you will learn interesting and exciting facts about the fascinating flora in the more than 80 garden landscapes. Diverse adventure stations, impressive themed gardens, artist pavilions and thematically related fauna make the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle a colourful world of adventure.
A visit to the Touriseum – the South Tyrolean Museum of Tourism – is also included in the entrance fee. Here awaits you a journey through 250 years of tourism history.
In the afternoon there is a short stopover in Merano with a tour of the old town and Merano's beautiful promenade or - if you wish - time at your own leisure. Once a spa town known throughout Europe, the second largest city in South Tyrol still stands for a unique combination of quality of life, elegance and lightness. The city captivates with its alpine-Mediterranean atmosphere and the urban flair in the old town, between medieval arcades and the magnificent buildings of the Belle Époque. The snow-covered peaks of the glaciers are enthroned on the horizon of the palm trees along the Passer promenade. In no other town in South Tyrol can you experience the alpine meditteranean flair like in Merano, where even Empress Elisabeth of Austria visited in the 1870s.
After the wonderful day with many unforgettable impressions your driver will bring you back to the hotel.
