- The breathtaking all-round view of the Dolomite peaks
- Stunning view of the Three Peaks, symbol of the Unesco World Natural Heritage
Your driver and guide will pick you up in a comfortable minivan directly at the hotel. The day tour first takes you to the high plateau of Prato Piazza, situated at around 2,000 m above sea level in the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park. Let your gaze wander over the white alpine pastures, the rustic small wooden huts and the mountain panorama.
The snowshoe hike first leads to the Dürrensteinhütte mountain refuge, where you put on your snow shoes, and then in a pleasant ascent to the Strudelkopfsattel. There a fortification from the First World War has survived the times.
Soon the Heimkehrerkreuz (2,307 m) – the summit cross of the Strudelkopf – is in sight. Once at the top, you will enjoy one of the most beautiful panoramic views in the Dolomites: Hohe Gaisl, Seekofel, Monte Cristallo, the Cadini Group, Tofana, Marmolada and the world-famous Three Peaks. On some tours, the path is as beautiful and promising as the destination itself. The beautiful tour to the Strudelkopf is one of them. The tour is also possible as a winter hike – without snowshoes.
For the lunch break, stop in a rustic alpine hut and refresh yourself with South Tyrolean specialities. Afterwards, if desired, you can make a short detour to the famous Pragser Wildsee/Lago di Braies lake, which is embedded in a white winter landscape and develops its very own charm even in the cold season.
On the way home there is the opportunity to taste typical locally produced specialities such as jams and cheeses and to buy them for the enjoyment at home.
